TETON COUNTY, WY, RESIDENTS ELIGIBLE FOR SEPTIC SYSTEM PUMPING REBATE

Teton Conservation District and Friends of Fish Creek have partnered to provide Teton County, Wyoming, residents the opportunity to receive a rebate for pumping septic systems which have not been maintained in the last 5 years. The program provides a 50% reimbursement (maximum of $150) for septic system pumping in Teton County, WY to residents who enrolled in the program prior to *DATE*, at which point enrollment was filled.

Why Should I Pump my Septic System?

Increasing residential growth in Teton County poses an increasing risk of water contamination from unmaintained septic systems. It is in the hands of septic system owners to ensure that their systems are operating correctly, and not risking human and environmental health. The best way to ensure long-term function of a septic system is regular maintenance.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends septic systems are pumped every 3-5 years. If septic systems are not pumped, backup can occur and cause the entire system to fail. Septic system failure is a human and environmental health hazard that quickly turns septic system operation from “out of sight, out of mind” into an expensive and unpleasant emergency.
